CrossRoad 2008 June Program
On June 21, 2008, CrossRoad staff welcomed participants from 17 states to Hellenic College for the fifth year of the CrossRoad program. For the first time, we will welcome a second session of bright young Orthodox Christians for this exciting 10-day program on July 5th. To see pictures, visit "CrossRoad Live."

CrossRoad Alumni Retreat a Great Success!
The Office of Vocation and Ministry hosted the first-ever CrossRoad Alumni retreat on the weekend of March 28-30, 2008. Forty-five "all-star" alumni travelled from across the country (and were joined by many of our own Hellenic College student alums) for the weekend, and were on the Hellenic College/Holy Cross campus on Friday for an evening session in the chapel, then went to a retreat center from Friday evening through Sunday morning, and then returned back to HCHC for liturgy at the Chapel Sunday morning. Fr. Thomas Hopko was the keynote speaker, and CrossRoad alumni staff including Mary Long (who is now on staff full time with the OVM, hooray!), Micah Hirschy, Ellie Mellas, Elizabeth Nichols, Thanasi Pantazelos, and George Sarraf attended. Plans are in the making for another CrossRoad alumni retreat in the Spring of 2009.
Attention high school juniors and seniors, before you decide what to do with the rest of your life, decide what to do with your summer! This year, thanks to overwhelming interest from qualified candidates, CrossRoad will offer two sessions! Students from the United States and Canada are invited to take part in an exciting summer vocations exploration program designed to help them discern their life callings and match their God-given gifts with the needs of the world.
Now in its fifth year, the CrossRoad program combines the greatest gifts of Hellenic College and Holy Cross Greek Orthodox School of Theology through faculty instruction and participation, an enthusiastic staff of graduate students, the beautiful campus overlooking Boston and of course the exciting city of Boston itself. Students will participate in daily classes with Orthodox faculty and attend vespers each evening at neighboring parishes in the Boston area.
What is CrossRoad?
CrossRoad, one of the many unique programs sponsored by the OVM, is funded by a grant from the Lilly Endowment Inc. and through the philanthropy of several donors. Applications may be downloaded from the CrossRoad website at crossroad.hchc.edu, or received by mail by calling the office at 617-850-1309. Furthermore, the OVM has produced a DVD featuring the CrossRoad experience which has been sent to each parish and is available on the CrossRoad website. Applicants must currently be in their junior or senior year of high school. All expenses for participants aside from travel costs to Boston are provided.
CrossRoad is an engaging 10-day summer program for Orthodox Christian high school juniors and seniors of all jurisdictions that takes place every summer on the campus of Hellenic College/Holy Cross in Brookline, Massachusetts. CrossRoad 2007 took place from June 22 - July 2.
CrossRoad Alumni Retreat
The Office of Vocation & Ministry is excited to announce the dates of its second annual CrossRoad Alumni Retreat, which will take place March 20-22, 2009. The first ever CrossRoad Alumni Retreat took place March 28-30, 2008 and was a great time for everyone to reconnect with their CrossRoad friends and to make new friends with CrossRoaders from all the different years. Please mark your calendars for next year!
CrossRoad Parents' Weekend
The first CrossRoad Parents' Weekend took place September 28-30, 2007 on the campus of Hellenic College/Holy Cross. Audio recordings of this weekend are available through the OVM. Find out more.
